Description l-r: Ellen and Bill Alsup and their grandfather William Alsup Sr on Cumberland Knob in 1951
Notes The Alsup family went on many day trips, always had a picnic and were home before dark. They very seldom did an overnight trip.

William Alsup Sr. was a wholesale grocer in 1950. He always wore a wool suit and white shirt - this was the most informal that he ever dressed. William Alsup Jr. was one of two ear, nose and throat surgeons in Winston Salem after WWII.
