Starry, Starry Nights

National Park Service volunteers, Martin Dileggi and Ranger Peter Hamel, will explore the stars,  constellations, comets, stories of the night sky and more.

Beginning at 8:00 PM with a short presentation about Astronomy in the Peaks of Otter Amphitheater (behind the Visitor Center) followed by an exploration of the night sky with telescopes and binoculars at a nearby Parkway Overlook. Be sure to dress warmly, bring your optics ( binoculars and/or telescope), folding chair, blanket, star chart if you have it, and plenty of curiosity.

The program will be moved indoors to the Peaks of Otter Lodge – Flat Top Room with no outdoor viewing afterwards in the event of poor viewing weather.
