Outside the diner at Fancy Gap, my brother’s and my bikes are leaned against the wall. His is a newish scandium Eddy Merckx, mine a nearly forty year old Mercian Olympic now on its third respray.
We began on our motorcycles 6-16-12, at 9:00 AM from Asheville, side trip to top of Mt. Mitchell, lunch at Lin Cove Viaduct, stayed in W. Jefferson, NC that evening.
