Big Pine Creek Stream Rehabilitation

In 2001, with a grant from the Clean Water Management Trust Fund of North Carolina, the riparian buffer along this headwater stream of the New River that crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 221 was restored. The project also helped establish a natural canopy for the stream and reducing peak water temperatures in this native trout stream.
