Flat Top Manor Nomination to the National Register of Historic Places

in 2009, the Foundation funded the proposal to nominate Flat Top Manor on the Moses H. Cone Estate to the National Register of Historic Places.  The proposal was completed and the National Park Service decided to expand the nomination to iclude the entire estate. The Blue Ridge Parkway is continuing to work on this nomination.  The nomination will clearly define a period of significance for the property which will enable the Parkway to guide future preservation work with a clear understanding of what elements of the property contribute to its historical value.
