Restore the Mabry Mill Waterwheel and Dredge Pond *
Mabry Mill is one of the most visited and photographed sites on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A gristmill, sawmill, and blacksmith shop are operated by seasonal interpreters and volunteers, telling the story of early rural Virginia life. The water wheel is a well-loved and integral part of the interpretive story at the site. In recent years, the mill wheel has deteriorated and must be repaired. Once repairs are made to the wheel, the pond will be dredged to remove overgrown vegetation.
The Foundation has committed $65,000 towards this project.
