"...forever etched in my mind"

10/7/10 left my driveway in Delaware around 4 am with three good friends on motorcycles for the journey of a lifetime. "Blue Ridge Parkway from end to end." arrived at the beginning around Waynesboro by 10 am, stopped at Humpback Rocks where as planned Charlie headed north to do Skyline drive and the three of us headed south. incredible sights from the ridge off both sides of mountain at same time somewhere around Peaks of Otter, where we stopped and had a nice late lunch at restaurant on the lake, onto North Carolina with a new sight around every bend.  Arriving at our cabin well after dark around mp256 only a couple hundred yards off parkway, what a great cabin, the driveway being real fun, straight up , we were ever so happy to be there ...just ask sonny.

10/8/10 left before sunrise, watched sun come up over mountains..what a sight!! met cousin Jim in Boone, fueled up and headed south toward Grandfather mtn , from here on was the most spectacular scenery Ithink I have ever seen, breathtaking, as far as the eye could see, the leaves were so colorful the rock outcroppings, amazing, gleaming from all directions, there are no words to describe the feelings and beauty , met so many wonderful people along the way....Mt. Mitchell was fun, hairpin was first time I scrubed my floorboards real good.... tunnels were cool. finished about dark in Cherokee, fried trout on the buffet at local eatery, what a way to finish our journey... all in all over 1300 miles in 3 days, can not wait to return, so as Icount the days these moutains are forever etched in my mind. thanx Blue Ridge Parkway
