Brian Gulden first moved to Asheville in 1990 to attend UNC Asheville. After graduating from UNCA, he attended Southern Illinois University School of Law. Subsequent to law school, he and his family returned to North Carolina. After working in Shelby, North Carolina, for five years, Gulden began his legal career in Asheville with Patla, Straus, Robinson & Moore, P.A. in 2006. His community involvement includes past membership on the Board of Directors for Pisgah Legal Services as well as participation as an advisory member of the Kids in Parks board. Brian and his wife, Chrissie, have been married for more than 20 years and have two children, Cole and Emily. He is an avid rock climber, mountain biker and runner, having completed four marathons.
Brian lives close enough to the Blue Ridge Parkway that he often accesses it from his neighborhood. His favorite location is near the east Asheville overlook where the rhododendrons have grown over the trail and give off a sense of being in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. He has enjoyed many hikes through those thickets with his family and friends. Brian’s current involvement with the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation furthers his commitment to see that all individuals, but especially younger kids, have a place to enjoy the peace and serenity of the world around them. It is Brian’s hope that the Blue Ridge Parkway will continue to offer respite from the constant activity that occurs in each of our daily lives.
