Our website collects individual data you provide to the following forms: Donate, Share Your Journey, End-to-Ender, Newsletter, Join Our Mailing List, Get the Plate Getaway, or Volunteer with Us. These forms are secured by HTTPS.
The site also uses Google Analytics (see https://policies.google.com/privacy) to measure website traffic and usage.
Cookies
Aside from the Google cookies, the only cookies for site visitors at brpfoundation.org track browser support of functionality such as Javascript.
Data Use
Information you share through the aforementioned forms is used to contact you directly regarding any submission and in the case of donations, provide an acknowledgement letter for your tax purposes.
We use a third-party marketing platform to deliver e-mails. This company employs techniques for tracking open rates and click-throughs that use e-mail addresses as an identifier. You may remove your name from our e-mail list at the bottom of each e-mail update or may contact us via e-mail or phone to have your name removed. We will not sell, rent, or trade your email address to any other parties.
Data Storage
Aside from submissions to the aforementioned forms, the Foundation website does not store information on online visitors. Information provided through the Donate form is stored in a secure Customer Relation Management system. The Foundation's customer data is stored on servers in a physically and digitally secure environment. Our databases are password-protected and available to limited members of our staff.
Online donations and event registrations are processed by affiliated vendors, including Blackbaud and Network For Good. Credit card and other information you provide when making an online donation is provided directly to the third-party vendor for the purpose of processing and recording gifts. All credit card information is encrypted at the time of processing and not stored for further use.
Data Sharing
Your data is not shared with third parties, with the exception of name and address information provided to printing firms strictly for mailing purposes. In this case, only mailing information is provided for delivery through the U.S. Postal Service.
Donor Privacy Policy
The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation will not trade, sell or share a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of another organization. This includes any donor information collected through online or offline platforms. We respect your right to privacy.
