Kim Lawson grew up on a small working farm in northern Stokes County. This location on the North Carolina-Virginia border offered gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as convenient access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which she visited frequently with her family. The Parkway remains one of Kim’s favorite resources for outdoor adventure, exploration, and entertainment. Because of this deep connection to the Parkway and to the culture and history it preserves, Kim is excited to join the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation as Director of The Bluffs Restaurant.
Kim has been making people happy, serving up fun, good food and tasty beverages since her college days at UNC-Chapel Hill working at the iconic Linda’s Bar & Grill. She has also been a mainstay at some of Winston-Salem’s most popular bars, restaurants, and clubs such as Shober’s, The Golden Apple, South by Southwest, West End Cafe, The Garage, Canteen Market & Bistro, The Ramkat and most recently, The Powder Room Cafe. When Kim is not working, you can find her walking with her husband Richard and her two dogs, Penny and Ellie May, curled up with a good book and her two cats, Princess Leia and Tony, hiking or cooking way too much food for her family and friends. E-mail Kim or call her (866) 308-2773.
