Since its humble beginnings busking on the streets of New York and Canada, Old Crow Medicine Show has gone on to be inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry, and has won Grammy Awards for Best Folk Album for Remedy(2014) and Best Long Form Music Video for "Big Easy Express" (2013). Their classic single, "Wagon Wheel," received the Recording Industry Association of America's platinum certification in 2013 for selling more than 1,000,000 copies. Old Crow MedicineShow now has five studio albums to their name on which they craft classic American roots music.
The four young renegade traditionalists that comprise the band Mipso are doing their part to carry forward the living musical traditions of North Carolina and beyond. The band's evolving musical style blends classic four-part harmonies and traditional Appalachian country and folk sounds with jazz and pop to create a new musical terrain that enriches and expands upon the traditional vocabularies of old-time and bluegrass music. This performance comes on the heels of their newest album,Coming Down the Mountain.
Amythyst Kiah is a Southern Gothic, alt-country, blues singer-songwriter based in Johnson City, Tennessee. Her influences are eclectic and span decades. She also draws heavily from contemporary artists that have similar powerful vocal integrity (Adele, Florence and the Machine, Janelle Monae, Tori Amos, and Bonnie Raitt). Tickets are $38 for adults and $22 for children 12 and younger.
