You’re invited to help the Parkway make a great impression on millions of visitors with Project Parkway volunteer day, from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 27. The goal is to rally Parkway lovers, volunteers, partners, and National Park Service staff to prepare all eight of the park’s campgrounds for the May opening during a single morning of dedicated service. The event kicks off the celebration of National Park Week (April 20-28). There are projects are for all ages, including leaf blowing, limb clearing, painting, and basic trail repairs and maintenance, so ask your family and friends to sign up too!
Locations include: Linville Falls, Price Park, Doughton, Otter Creek, Peaks of Otter, Rocky Knob, Crabtree Falls and Mount Pisgah. If you are interested in participating, contact Project Manager Ethan Crump at BLRI_Volunteers@nps.gov or (828) 348-3419 by April 15, 2019.
