(Charlotte, N.C.) – The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation was honored with the Tourism Excellence Award by the North Carolina Travel Industry Association (NCTIA) during a ceremony on November 3 in Charlotte.
Each year, NCTIA recognizes individuals and organizations for contributions that enhance and progress tourism activity in the state. Improving experiences for Blue Ridge Parkway visitors is key to the Foundation’s mission, from restoring historic sites to rehabbing campsites and trails.
“The goal to preserve and protect the Parkway results in travelers building a deep connection to this wondrous mountain landscape,” said Foundation CEO Carolyn Ward. “We couldn't do it without our Community of Stewards, the people who support our work and invest in the legacy of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
